Our multi-tasking lives these days can be pretty stressful...A typical day can include super-challenging work in the office, preparing dinner, getting kids to bed.  Then there’s social life, stimulating social obligations as well.  It’s the rare moment of pause that we can dream of indulging ourselves, somewhere  between work, managing the family and a full social life. As we ponder the wear and tear of modern life, we hit a moment that says, “Stop!” before we get resentful and angry.

AmorOlio – a workshop dedicated to the Tuscan kitchen at Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort...Close your eyes and imagine yourself standing in a grove of silvery jade olive trees, holding a handful of freshly plucked, perfectly unblemished olives that give off a sensual aroma of their oil to come. It’s the feel of the perfectly plump oval green olive, just before it goes to press. And then imagine the taste of freshly pressed oil dripped over a crisp focaccia, or over a plate of tortelli, or in a delicate risotto.

If during this holiday season you wish to drive up into the Appenines that divide Tuscany from Emilia-Romagna, we suggest a little medieval town named Palazzuolo sul Senio (the Senio, the local stream, connects to the Sieve which runs through the Mugello and eventually links up with the Arno).

AmorOlio: Speaking Tuscan in the Kitchen | Print |  E-mail

March 23 2012 (Friday) - March 29 2012 (Thursday) - "AmorOlio: Speaking Tuscan in the Kitchen" in Tuscany’s glorious Mugello Valley. No, it’s not a language course, though we guarantee you’ll pick up an interesting phrase or two—maybe even a parolaccia (curse word) if we burn the onions for the ragu. But the kitchen at Villa Campestri truly speaks Tuscan: We invite you to join our own Chef Roberto (“Jerry”) Zanieri and food expert Nancy Harmon Jenkins, noted for her knowledge of all things Italian (and author of Flavors of Tuscany), for a magical six-day full immersion in the delights of springtime Tuscany.
