Everything is ready for the “Fiera Calda” of Vicchio!

Fiera Calda of Vicchio 2018 in the Mugello of Villa Campestri Olive Oil resort

Once again this year, as usual, the long-awaited Fiera Calda of Vicchio returns to Mugello with artisan exhibitions and art exhibitions, food stands, concerts and workshops for children. An event not to be missed!

The origins of the famous Fiera Calda of Vicchio

Live shows, cattle market shows, markets and handicrafts. Also this year will be held the famous Fiera Calda of Vicchio, the appointment will be from 29 August to 2 September 2018 in the historic center of this charming village of Mugello.

The “Fiera Calda” is a truly historic event that has its roots in the rural culture and over the years has established itself as a showcase for the excellence of local craftsmanship and the agricultural world of Mugello.

Already the Geographic, Physical and Historical Atlas of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany by Attilio Zuccagni Orlandini, published by the Granducale printing in 1832, talk about the Weekly Markets and Fairs that take place in the Mugello countries and we read that the last Wednesday of the month in August the Livestock Fair is held in Vicchio.

So if Zuccagni Orlandini cites the Agricultural Fair of Vcchio di Mugello in 1828 – 1832, it is an unequivocal sign that the fair existed many years before, therefore, the “Fiera Calda” in Vicchio has truly ancient origins.

Nowadays the Vicchio Fair is a great event awaited by everyone, young and old.

There are many activities and attractions that characterize it, for example these are some of the many events of the 2017 edition:

  • Street market in P.zza della Vittoria and V.le B. Angelico;
  • Art Market;
  • Street food;

The “Fiera Calda” of Vicchio for children

The Vicchio fair is a special event for children too.

In the 2017 edition every day there was a space dedicated to children with tasting of Mukki products and activities for children. In addition, the drawing space of the animals with a milking game-test was always open.

But the Fair is also workshops and activities for children and young people such as the beautiful laboratory to discover the bees or the one dedicated to the production of a loaf made with flour obtained from local wheat.

Thanks to these special workshops children can learn the production of the main local products such as how to obtain cheeses from the milk of the cows of Mugello, the processes of harvesting and the production of wine and much more.

, every year it amazes and enchants. For this reason we recommend you not to miss the 2018 edition and if you want to stay in complete relax we wait for you at Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort!
