The virtues of centenarians.
The centenarians at Villa Campestri are our trees: strong healthy plants that thrive, some for hundreds of years, thanks to the hillside location and the ideal soil for olive cultivation. The hillside location and the nature of the soil provide the ideal environment for olive cultivation and the nearby woods create a microclimate which renders phytosanitary treatment unnecessary. Soil and water are managed by means of naturally-occurring year-round grass over the entire surface. The result is organically produced extra-virgin olive oil of the highest quality. Harvesting is by hand and the olives are processed on the same day at our press.
The plantation covers 5 hectares and is cultivated principally with Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio, Pendolino and Correggiolo varieties, and in smaller quantities also with Piangente and Leccio del Corno cultivars.
