As he painted, Giotto had in his eyes the magical harmony of this land that was his birthplace.
The colours, the smells, and the alternation of its hills also inspired the talents of Fra Angelico, another illustrious talent born in this area. What other corner of Tuscany could be more appropiate for an unforgettable painting course?
Villa Campestri organizes painting and drawing experiences of 4 and 8 days to explore the fourteenth-century techniques used by Giotto and the artists of his school up to Leonardo da Vinci. The painting experiences are coordinated by Alan Pascuzzi, an artist and art teacher specialized in fourteenth-century drawing and painting techniques such as egg tempera on gold leaf, frescos, charcoal and brush drawing, pen and ink, and silverpoint.
The lessons are supplemented with guided discovery trips of landscapes to paint and works to admire. For more information, please write to
