Continuing in our Autumn theme this week on the blog, our thoughts come to those who might not be in Tuscany, but want a little ‘fall flair’ in their own residences. Whether it be a sultry table, decorated with seasonal accents and fresh fruits in season to hand made artisan items from Tuscany. We adore the warm look that Italy inspires during these months and want to share a few of our favorite looks and suggestions.
Table Setting, Tips & Market Finds
Cooler weather inspires cozy dinners at home and with that, a seasonal take on table decorations. In order to host fancy dinner parties, you’ll want a stream-lined look. If you reside in Tuscany, some of the antique markets (Arezzo, Florence) are wonderful places to pick up unique, one of kind pieces – such as polished silver and antique glasses. Also browse our shop for additional table decor. Mix them with large candles, pine-cones or apples, rope twine, cinnamon sticks and textured napkins. For an extra touch, you can print out fun menu’s from resources online, we liked this list.

Source Locally: Shop Made In Italy
Shopping from true Made-in-Italy companies ensures survival of traditional local crafts, but it also typically tends to be of a much higher quality. As part of our decorating for autumn, series, we’d like to showcase a cashmere company close to our resort that has been producing cashmere knitwear since 1949, Il Borgo Cashmere. The company utilizes many techniques either by hand or by machine and most importantly, enhances local craft skills. Facebook page.

We also think artisan-made wood products really add to a beautiful ‘fall’ look and also are quite useful. We found a man in Chianti named Giorgio (his workshop is about an hour away from Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort, in San Casciano Val di Pesa. He makes the most incredible pieces in a variety of different wood, from bowls, to cutting boards to works of art, and he is completely self-taught.
Let Harvest Season Inspire
Because this time of year is all about harvest (wine, olive oil, chestnuts & mushrooms) we recommend embracing the season as adding touches like chestnuts to brighten up your fall home decor. You can even make this a fun craft project with your family, like these cute chestnut animals that you can see here.
One of the most meaningful experiences during a trip to Tuscany, beyond visiting art cities or iconic landscapes, is connecting with everyday local life. That connection often happens in village markets, artisan workshops, and small food shops where products are made for the people who live there year-round, not just for visitors. In this guide, […]

They’re simple expressions, but rich in meaning, full of identity, character, and that deep-rooted spirit of a land that doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is. During your stay at Villa Campestri […]

It lingers in the cool shade of cobbled alleys that still echo with generations past. And it gathers in the squares of small villages, where days unfold in quiet conversation over market stalls […]
