Stunning views of Florence
Everyone who is in Florence in search of lovely panoramas cannot possibly leave out of their itinerary a visit to Villa Bardini and Forte Belvedere, which can both be reached by taking a short walk through ancient streets that unveil immersive gardens.
Villa Bardini
The villa, built in the 1600s by Gherardo Silvani, is today home of the Pietro Annigoni Museum, which exhibits about 6000 works of the master as does the Roberto Capucci Museum. The magnificent garden is characterized by the spectacular baroque staircase that leads to a wonderful viewpoint over the city.
Forte Belvedere
Forte Belvedere or Forte di San Giorgio was built starting in 1590 on behalf of Grand Duke Ferdinand I with the intention of defending the city from enemies and insurrections. From the ramparts you can admire a breathtaking panorama of the city and the Boboli Gardens.
