Vin Santo Wine
Among the many typical Tuscan products “Cantucci and Vin Santo” are definitely the most widespread in the countryside and in the kitchen of Tuscan restaurants.
Vin Santo is a sweet dessert wine made from Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes. It can be sweet or dry and is generally paired with pastries or the “Cantucci,” typical Tuscan biscuits.
According to tradition, Vin Santo is produced from the best grapes that are dried by hanging on hooks. Once the dried grapes are pressed, the “must” ages for about 3 years.
This ancient amber wine occupies an important place of great prestige in Tuscan enology because it is made with techniques handed down from generation to generation.
