Every guest at Villa Campestri becomes a part of its history. When you come here you will relax and experience special moments with nature, tradition, art, and the beauty of Tuscany. But, you can even do more! Why not a bit of knitting?
You will find a basket with a ball of yarn and knitting needles near the fireplace of the sitting room on the first floor. All you have to do is take it up and knit for as long as you wish in order to relax yourself after a walk or dinner. After you have enjoyed your moment of creativity and relaxation, leave your work in the basket for others who will continue this communal work of art.
Do you think that only grandmothers knit? Well, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Daryl Hannah, Hilary Swank, and thousands of other people are merry knitters in their free time. You may perhaps have noticed that the “knitted” look is in style for 2016.
For those who want to embark on this special project and knit with us, please leave your email address, so we can send you updates on the scarf’s progress, along with plenty of photos. Otherwise we invite you to check out our blog and all of our latest news, which we update weekly.
What will become of this communal “tapestried” scarf? We could wrap it around the eldest centenarian of our olive grove, or perhaps we could use it to gather funds for a humanitarian initiative. Suggest some ideas or projects – we will welcome them.
