Romantic Tuscany, our favorite spots

Without a doubt, Tuscany is considered to be one of the most romantic places in the world. A place with rolling hills, cobble-stoned streets in charming hill top towns and wineries galore, couples often find this area of Italy to be their charming escape from the stress of every day life. But the next question is, with all of the amazing destinations to visit, which one should you choose? Here are our suggestions on where to go for a romantic escape in Tuscany this 2014.

1. Elba Island

An island in the Etruscan archipelago, Elba island is best well known as the place where Napolean was exiled in 1814, but there is so much more to this magical place. Best to visit by car, we recommend hopping on the ferry at Piombino and staying for at least a weekend to get the most out of your visit. Here you will find a plethora of water sports such as snorkaling, diving and canoing – as well as hiking. We recommend a stop at the beautiful white-pebbled beach of Capo Bianco in Portoferraio. Piombino is around 2 1/2 hours from Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort.

2.  Saturnia Thermal Springs in Grosseto, Tuscany

While thermal springs are quite abundant in Tuscany, one of our favorite romantic places isn’t in a fancy spa – but rather a result of splendid nature. The famous Cascate del Mulino naturally carved rock wells contain naturally heated thermal water that is something to be experienced at least once in your life. Why pay for a fancy resort when you can enjoy the local’s best kept secret. Check out their Facebook fan page. The cascate del mulino are approx. 3 1/2 hours from Villa Campestri olive oil resort.

3. Mugello, Tuscany

We might be a tad biased, but we are 100% sure that our area of Tuscany is one of the romantic areas in Italy. A place where the art of eating well is combined with a slower pace of life. Lingering over a long lunch complete with a variety of fresh flavors and extra-virgin olive oil, painting in the garden, long walks in the beautiful area surrounding our resort — there is something for everyone here. We celebrate being in tune with your senses, which is why we even offer this special package which includes an relaxing olive-oil massage in our bamboo grove or a special package including daily 3 course meals personally selected by our chef.

Whatever you choose, Tuscany is always a romantic destination and we are here to help, if you have any questions or need help planning your next trip, write us on our Facebook Page
