Tuscan Christmas traditions

“Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi” is a phrase that in Italian means “Christmas with your family, while Easter can be spent with whomever you want.”

While everyone is getting ready for what will surely be a wonderful holiday break, we are doing the same here at Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort. It has been a long and fulfilling year doing a job we absolutely adore, which is providing a quality service to our wonderful guests from all over the world. And let’s not forget, producing quality extra-virgin olive oil as the first ‘Olive Oil Resort’ to ever exist in Tuscany and in the world. We have declared our Christmas tree with lights and ornaments that have been passed over generations.

Just like any Tuscan home, we believe in spending christmas following traditional recipes. At out Christmas lunch, you will find a variety of Tuscan goodies such as cured meats, olives,  ‘Crostini Toscani’ (chicken liver-pâté on Tuscan bread — without salt). Extravirgin olive oil produced from our farm, ‘lasagne’, roasted meats and vegetables and of course our ‘panettone’ (Tuscan fruit cake) and panforte,  that always has a place on an Italian holiday lunch or dinner. Coffee and digestives will follow and then an after lunch ‘passeggiata’ (Walk) to burn off a little of that smorgasbord of amazing, local food.

We at Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We hope to see you all back next spring in our charming area of Vicchio for what will surely be another incredible Tuscan adventure!
