Continuing in our Autumn theme this week on the blog, our thoughts come to those who might not be in Tuscany, but want a little ‘fall flair’ in their own residences. Whether it be a sultry table, decorated with seasonal accents and fresh fruits in season to hand made artisan items from Tuscany. We adore the warm look that Italy inspires during these months and want to share a few of our favorite looks and suggestions.

If there ever was an Olympic gold-star medal winner in the world of Mushrooms, it would definitely be the Porcini variety. It is one of the most-prized funghi in the world, and the first step to appreciation, is developing a bit of understanding beforehand. They are an important element of local Tuscan cuisine and can be found in a number of interesting, local dishes.
Since we are nearing our olive harvest, what better time to tackle a few well known myths regarding olive oil, our life, Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort’s theme, and something that Italy is well-known for producing. Italy is the number one producers and seller of this ‘green gold’ in the world and we base our lives around continuously learning about this excellent gift that has been beholden in the Tuscan area for centuries. As we inch ever nearer October, the weather has turned unusually chilly. On the streets of Florence, and tiny Tuscan towns that surround our resort, Villa Campestri, in the Mugello valley, we see scarves and light jackets already making their way out of the winter wardrobe. It almost feels too much, too soon. But after such a long summer, we are quite happy to embrace this cooler weather and stunning sunsets, and to be quite frank, it gives us an appetite. (more…)
