Situated in the untarnished nature of Mugello, Bilancino Lake (Il Lago di Bilancino) is the biggest manmade lake in Tuscany with a depth of 31 meters and surface area of 5 kilometers squared.

The ceramic tradition of Mugello has truly deep roots. The first records date back to the Renaissance when in the first years of the 1500s Pierfrancesco de’ Medici had a ceramic factory built in Barberino near the Villa of Cafaggiolo.
